Melina Nava Perez (born March 9, 1979) is an American professional wrestler. She is best known for her time with World Wrestling Entertainment under the ring mononym Melina. Perez joined the independent professional wrestling circuit in 2000 before signing with WWE in 2004. Initially, she was a manager for the tag team MNM. She managed them to three reigns as WWE Tag Team Champions, as well as Johnny Nitro to two reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champion. Perez made her WWE singles debut in 2005 and is an three-time WWE Women’s Champion, winning the belt twice in 2007 and once in 2009. She also captured the WWE Divas Championship on two occasions in 2009 and 2010, making her a five-time champion overall. As a WWE Diva, Perez was noted for her trademark ring entrance which involved performing the splits on the wrestling ring’s apron. She was released from her contract with WWE on August 5, 2011.
